FUNCTION: MECHANIC

COMPANY PROFILE:

The company specializes in maintenance, repair and conversion of complex, high-quality ships and other maritime objects.

 DESCRIPTION:

The mechanic independently carries out complex work on main and auxiliary machines/ equipment onboard of ships/vessels which are at the yard for maintenance and repair work. The work is done based on drawings and instructions.

The mechanic is responsible for alignment, assembly and adjustment of the different kinds of propulsion equipment and machines (incl. propeller and shaft) and similar installations. Dismantling, revision, adjustment and re-assembly of these installations is part of the work.

The mechanic also carries out tasks which are not part of the direct scope of work, such as simple burning and tack-welding.

 PROFILE:

Solid education in Mechanics and several years of experience (ship repair or -building)

Knowledge of dismantling, sequential re-assembly and methods of adjustment of complex installations.

Knowledge and experience with different measuring techniques and measurement and adjustment instruments is required.

Used to working in teams, with a service providing and flexible attitude.

Knowledge of the English and German language is preferred because of communication with the ship’s crew.
